Oracle Cards

Symbolic Divination & Intuitive Language

Oracle cards, also known as symbolic divination cards, form an extremely vast and free family of divinatory tools. Unlike strictly codified systems such as the Tarot, Oracles rely on an open structure, giving a central place to intuition, symbolism, and inner resonance.

1) Nature and Specificity of Oracles

An Oracle deck is composed of symbols, figures, archetypes, colors, numbers, shapes, and representations defined by the vision of its creator. No two Oracles are identical: each deck constitutes an autonomous symbolic universe, with its own logic, language, and vibration.

Where Tarot imposes a fixed structure, the Oracle offers an intuitive field of exploration. This freedom makes it accessible — yet also profoundly subtle when used with awareness.

2) Origin and Symbolic Tradition

Divination through symbolic imagery is one of the oldest forms of intuitive reading. Long before the standardization of divinatory systems, human beings used images, signs, and symbols to dialogue with the invisible.

Oracle cards belong to this ancient continuity: they do not rely on a rigid doctrine, but on the innate human ability to recognize, associate, and interpret symbols.

3) Symbolic Languages Used

Oracles employ a wide diversity of symbolic languages. Depending on the deck, one may find:

  • Universal archetypes and primordial figures
  • Totem animals and instinctual symbolism
  • Plants, trees, and botanical symbols
  • Mythological or spiritual figures
  • Numbers and numerological structures
  • Astrological or cosmic references
  • Specific colors or the deliberate absence of color

Some decks integrate elements drawn from astrology, numerology, geomancy, alchemy, or specific spiritual traditions. Others deliberately rely on minimalist iconography, leaving more space for pure intuition.

4) Divinatory Use

Oracle cards are used for divination: insight into the present, ongoing dynamics, future influences, and emerging potentials.

They answer concrete questions, but also illuminate complex situations where a strictly rational approach reaches its limits.

The Oracle often functions as a symbolic mirror: it reveals what is already present within the consultant’s field, but not always consciously perceived.

5) A Tool for Self-Knowledge

Beyond prediction, Oracles are powerful tools for self-knowledge. They help identify inner patterns, emotional blockages, limiting beliefs, or untapped resources.

Through symbolism, they invite a holistic reading of existence: every experience holds meaning and belongs to a broader dynamic.

6) An Intuitive and Personal Relationship

Every relationship between a reader and an Oracle is unique. With time and practice, the deck becomes a personal language, a subtle dialogue between the unconscious, intuition, and the symbolism of the cards.

Oracles do not dictate a fixed destiny: they illuminate possible paths, choices to be made, and directions to adjust.
