Aura & Energy Centers — Chakras
The Aura and the Energy Centers
The aura is not simply a coloured light around the human being. In holistic healing, it is the subtle atmosphere of existence: the field where body, emotion, thought, memory, intention, trauma, vitality, spiritual connection and the deeper quality of the soul meet. The energy centers — the chakras — function as gateways of circulation, regulation and translation of this energy within human experience.
The aura as a living field of information
In the inner and holistic tradition, the aura is understood as the subtle energetic field that surrounds and permeates the physical body. It is not treated as a simple “light”, nor as a decorative mystical element. It is a field of information. Within it are reflected vitality, psychic state, emotional charge, clarity of intention, quality of relationships, spiritual connection and the way a person gives and receives energy.
A human being does not live only inside the physical body. They also live inside an atmosphere. We enter a place and feel whether it is heavy or clear. We meet a person and sense whether they open us, exhaust us, pressure us or soothe us. What we often call “instinct”, “feeling”, “presence” or “energy” is the subtle perception of the field.
When the aura is clear, coherent and alive, the person usually feels more present. They have a better sense of their boundaries. They can distinguish what belongs to them and what belongs to others. They do not absorb foreign emotions so easily. They do not collapse as easily in tension. They do not scatter at the first pressure.
On the contrary, when the field is tired, weak, disorganised or energetically “torn”, the person may feel as if they have no protective envelope. They may become exhausted by others, become charged easily, struggle to concentrate, feel as if they are “losing energy” or as if they have no stable inner center.
What “holes”, ruptures and leaks in the aura mean
When holistic healing speaks of “holes” or “ruptures” in the aura, it does not refer to something material or frightening. It is not a wound in the body. It refers to points where the energetic field has lost cohesion. These are areas where energy is not held well, does not circulate smoothly or is not sufficiently protected.
A rupture in the aura may be perceived as an energetic leak. The person may feel that they give more than they can sustain, that they become drained after contact with certain people, that they cannot close a situation inside themselves, that they remain “open” to old memories or that an experience continues to affect them even when it has externally ended.
Ruptures are often connected with periods of intense stress, grief, shock, fear, exhaustion, emotional dependence, prolonged pressure or intense contact with draining environments. They may also form when a person systematically violates their own boundaries: when they say “yes” while inside they say “no”, when they remain in relationships that diminish them, when they swallow anger, when they absorb the pain of others, when they live constantly in survival mode.
In the therapeutic field, these points are not approached with fear. They are approached through reading. What opened? When did it open? What energy is leaving? What energy is entering? Which boundary was lost? Which trauma continues to pull attention? Which need has not been recognised?
How energetic ruptures affect daily life
A weak or fragmented field does not always appear in a spectacular way. Often, it appears through simple daily difficulties: excessive sensitivity, inability to concentrate, fatigue after social contact, the feeling that “something pulls me back”, psychic fog, or the feeling that one cannot protect oneself.
On a holistic level, the aura functions like psychic and energetic skin. Just as the physical skin separates the body from the environment, the aura helps the person distinguish their own energy from external influences. When this “energetic skin” is strong, the person does not easily become a sponge. When it is weakened, they may absorb much more than they need.
The volume, density and boundaries of the aura
The aura does not always have the same extension. In periods of strength, inspiration, balance and spiritual connection, it may become brighter, more expanded and more alive. In periods of fear, exhaustion, grief or inner contraction, it may appear closer to the body, heavier, weaker or more “stuck”.
The volume of the aura is not a matter of egoic “power”. It is a matter of presence. A person with a large but chaotic aura may spread everywhere and lose themselves. A person with a smaller but clear aura may be focused, calm and protected. The aim is not to blindly “enlarge” the field. The aim is for it to become clear, stable, alive and conscious.
The density of the aura shows how well energy is held. A very thin or weak aura may show exhaustion or hypersensitivity. An overly hard aura may show defence, fear or need for control. A balanced aura is neither torn nor frozen. It is permeable only to what serves the soul and stable enough not to dissolve under every external influence.
The layers of the aura
Many inner traditions describe the aura as a multi-layered field. Names differ from school to school, but the basic idea is common: the human being does not have only one body. The human being has a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dimension. The aura is the space where these dimensions can be felt.
Aura colours: not a simple list, but a language
Aura colours are one of the most misunderstood subjects. Online, one often finds simplified lists: red means this, blue means that, green means something else. In real energetic reading, colour is not interpreted alone. It is examined together with clarity, position, intensity, brightness, movement, the layer of the aura where it appears and the area of the body or chakra with which it is connected.
A clear red near the base may indicate grounding, life force, instinct and physical presence. A cloudy, heavy or dark red around the solar plexus may indicate anger, pressure, tension or accumulated reaction. The same colour changes meaning depending on where it is and how it moves.
| Colour | Clear expression | Cloudy or heavy expression | Common area |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red | Life force, grounding, instinct, physical presence, action. | Anger, tension, aggression, survival fear, overstimulation. | Base, legs, lower aura, solar plexus when pressure is present. |
| Orange | Creativity, desire, joy, movement, emotional expression. | Dependence, instability, excessive need for validation, emotional confusion. | Sacral center, abdomen, relationships, sexual and creative zone. |
| Yellow | Mind, confidence, personal power, clarity, direction. | Control anxiety, over-analysis, fear of failure, mental fatigue. | Solar plexus, mental field, area around the stomach. |
| Green | Healing, heart, balance, compassion, renewal, natural harmony. | Jealousy, emotional exhaustion, excessive giving, lack of boundaries. | Heart, hands, healing field, relationships. |
| Pink | Tenderness, self-love, sweetness, acceptance, feminine softness. | Romantic dependence, need to be loved at any cost, wounded sensitivity. | Heart, chest, emotional body. |
| Blue | Communication, truth, calm, faith, clear expression. | Suppressed speech, fear of speaking, coldness, passivity. | Throat, neck, communication and speech area. |
| Indigo / Deep blue | Intuition, inner vision, perception, dream memory, deep observation. | Confusion, illusion, excessive imagination, disconnection from reality. | Third eye, forehead, mental-intuitive field. |
| Violet | Spirituality, transformation, initiation, subtle perception, connection with higher meaning. | Over-spiritualisation, escape from the body, rejection of matter. | Crown of the head, higher aura layers. |
| Gold | Consciousness, protection, sacredness, guidance, luminous power. | Rarely heavy; when dull, it may indicate tired spiritual effort. | Spiritual field, heart, head, edges of the aura. |
| White / Silver | Purity, connection, opening, protection, subtle guidance. | When excessively colourless, it may indicate disconnection, lack of grounding or exhaustion. | Peripheral field, crown, protective envelope. |
The aura colour type
Just as the body can have a colour type, the aura may also have a dominant energetic colour type. This is not absolutely static, but it shows the basic quality through which a person radiates, relates, heals, creates and perceives the world.
One person may have a dominant earthy aura: they need safety, matter, rhythm, body, nature and practicality. Another may have a watery aura: they move through emotion, memory, intuition and empathy. Another may have a fiery aura: they live through action, passion, will, intensity and creation. Another may have an airy aura: they function through thought, communication, inspiration, ideas and mental movement.
What the energy centers are
The energy centers, known as chakras, are points of concentration, circulation and translation of energy. In the classical inner approach, they are located along the central axis of the body, from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. They function like nodes. They receive, process and radiate energy.
They are not simply “buttons” that open and close. They are entire fields of function. Each chakra is connected with a level of experience: survival, emotion, power, love, speech, intuition, spiritual connection. When a center is balanced, the corresponding function expresses naturally. When it is blocked, overloaded or weak, the same function may express through fear, excess, avoidance or confusion.
The seven main energy centers
| Center | Main theme | Psychological function | Holistic sign of imbalance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Root | Safety, body, survival, grounding. | I feel that I have a place in life, that I belong in my body and can stand. | Fear, insecurity, sense of threat, difficulty with stability, disconnection from the body. |
| Sacral | Emotion, creation, desire, pleasure. | I allow myself to feel, rejoice, create and relate. | Guilt, emotional instability, blocked creativity, difficulty with pleasure. |
| Solar plexus | Will, identity, power, boundaries. | I know who I am, what I want, what I choose and where I set limits. | Control, anger, weakness, shame, fear of exposure, low self-confidence. |
| Heart | Love, compassion, connection, healing. | I can love without losing myself and give without becoming empty. | Closure, grief, excessive giving, emotional exhaustion, fear of tenderness. |
| Throat | Speech, truth, expression, listening. | I can speak my truth, be heard and listen. | Suppression, fear of expression, excessive silence or excessive speech without essence. |
| Third eye | Intuition, vision, perception, inner knowledge. | I see beyond the surface without losing discernment. | Confusion, lack of trust in intuition, excessive imagination, mental fog. |
| Crown | Spiritual connection, meaning, faith, higher guidance. | I feel that life has meaning and that I am part of a larger field. | Disconnection, emptiness, over-spiritualisation, escape from matter, lack of purpose. |
The Root Center — permission to exist
The first center is the base. It is connected with the body, earth, survival, safety, stability, home, family, material reality and the feeling that I have the right to exist. When the Root is stable, the person does not float. They do not live only in the mind. They stand. They breathe. They endure.
A weak Root may appear as constant worry, sense of threat, difficulty trusting life, need for control or disconnection from the body. In the aura, the lower part of the field may appear weak, cut off or insufficiently grounded. The person may have many ideas, spirituality or sensitivity, but be unable to embody them.
The Sacral Center — permission to feel
The second center is connected with the water of life: emotion, creativity, desire, pleasure, sexuality, flow, relationship, fertility in the deeper sense. It does not concern only sexual energy. It concerns the ability to allow life to touch me.
When the Sacral Center is balanced, the person feels, creates, relates, enjoys and moves. They are not frozen. They are not flooded. They have flow. When it is blocked, guilt, shame, emotional suppression, difficulty with pleasure, fear of intimacy or excessive dependence on others’ validation may appear.
In the aura, the Sacral Center often reveals how the person relates to desire. Whether they fear wanting. Whether they are ashamed to feel. Whether they have learned to survive by cutting off pleasure. Whether their creativity has frozen from old pain.
The Solar Plexus — permission to choose
The third center is the center of personal power. It is connected with will, confidence, identity, direction, boundaries, action and the ability to say: “this is who I am, this is what I choose, this is what I do not allow”.
When the Solar Plexus is clear, the person does not need to dominate in order to feel powerful. They have an inner axis. They can say no. They can act. They can take a position. When it is imbalanced, it may move either toward control, anger and domination, or toward weakness, submission, shame and indecision.
The Heart Center — permission to love without losing myself
The heart is the center of connection. It unites the lower and higher centers. It unites body and spirit, need and meaning, human being and soul. It does not concern only romantic love. It concerns compassion, acceptance, forgiveness, healing, empathy, gratitude and the ability to relate.
When the heart is open and healthy, the person can love without dissolving. They can give without becoming empty. They can feel compassion without carrying everyone’s pain. When wounded, it may close, freeze, become overprotective or give excessively in order to be loved.
In the aura, the heart is one of the most important points of reading. There we may see old bonds, grief, lack of self-love, fear of abandonment, but also the healing capacity of the person. Many healers have strong energy in the hands and heart, but need particular care so that they do not give from their wound.
The Throat Center — permission to speak my truth
The fifth center concerns speech. But not only speaking. It concerns truth, expression, creative voice, listening, prayer, confession, the ability to give form to what is happening inside.
A blocked throat center may show suppressed words, fear of criticism, difficulty asking for what one needs, or the tendency to speak a lot without speaking truth. Energetic work here is not simply about “speaking more”. It is about aligning speech with the soul.
The Third Eye — permission to see
The sixth center is connected with intuition, inner vision, imagination, dreams, symbolic thought, perception of patterns and the ability to see beyond the surface.
When it functions clearly, the person has discernment. They do not confuse intuition with fear. They do not take every fantasy as a message. They can listen to their inner sight while remaining grounded. When the center is imbalanced, confusion, excessive imagination, obsession with signs or complete disconnection from intuition may appear.
In the aura, the Third Eye shows whether the person has clear inner perception or whether their mental field is clouded by fear, projection and overload.
The Crown Center — permission to connect with meaning
The Crown is the center of spiritual connection. It is not simply “higher energy”. It is the person’s relationship with meaning, faith, guidance, the invisible, mystery and the feeling that life is not merely mechanical survival.
When the Crown is clear, the person does not need to control everything. They have trust. They do not get lost in matter, but they do not reject matter either. When imbalanced, spiritual disconnection, emptiness, cynicism or, on the other side, escape into spiritual ideas without grounding may appear.
The relationship between aura and chakras
The aura and the chakras are not two separate systems. The chakras are like energetic stations within the field. The aura is the wider environment in which they function. If the aura is cloudy, fragmented or charged, the centers struggle to function clearly. If a center is blocked, the corresponding part of the aura may show density, shadow, pressure or lack of flow.
For example, a weak Solar Plexus may be connected with weak boundaries in the aura. A wounded heart may create heavy or closed energy in the chest. An overloaded Third Eye may make the upper field very active but leave the body ungrounded. A blocked Sacral Center may affect creative flow and the sense of joy.
How an aura is read in a holistic session
Aura reading is not fortune-telling in the simplistic sense. It is field observation. The healer or energetic reader observes the quality of presence: where there is luminosity, where there is heaviness, where the field appears coherent, where there is leakage, which centers are open, which are weak, which are overloaded, which colours dominate and which are absent.
A deep session does not stop at “you have a blocked chakra”. That is poor. What matters is to discover what the blockage means. Is it fear? Grief? Anger? Excessive giving? Lack of boundaries? Disconnection from the body? Denial of desire? A need for spiritual connection?
Field mapping
Observation of the overall aura: volume, density, brightness, boundaries, leaks, colours and energetic coherence.
Reading of centers
Examination of the main energy centers and their relationship with emotion, body, mind, relationship and spiritual direction.
Identifying ruptures
Recognition of points where the field seems to lose energy or hold external influences, old memories or unresolved charge.
Restoration protocol
Creation of personal direction with colours, crystals, flower remedies, essential oils, meditation, breath or ritual work.
The aura, the body and psychology
Holistic healing does not divide the human being into separate pieces. It does not say “this is only body”, “this is only soul”, “this is only thought”. It sees the human being as a whole. An emotion can affect body posture. A thought can change the breath. A fear can tighten the Solar Plexus. Grief can close the heart. Prolonged pressure can make the aura heavy and tired.
Energetic reading does not replace psychology, but it can offer a symbolic map. It shows where the person has lost contact. Where they have frozen. Where they give excessively. Where they fear being seen. Where they protect themselves so much that they can no longer receive.
The aura and relationships
Every relationship is an exchange of fields. When two people meet, it is not only their words that meet. Their fears, expectations, needs, wounds, projections, desire, defences and carried energy meet as well.
Relationships that drain a person often leave marks in the field: knots in the heart, heaviness in the Solar Plexus, a sense of bond in the abdomen, fog in the head, inability to close a cycle. This is why energetic work does not only ask “will someone return?” It asks what remains in the field. Which bond pulls. Which need has not healed. Which energy must return to its owner.
The aura and spiritual protection
Spiritual protection is not fear. It is clarity of boundaries. An energetically protected person is not closed. They are conscious. They know what they allow. They know what they do not allow. They do not need to fight everything, because their field is not open to every influence.
Aura protection is built in many ways: through grounding, clear intention, recovery of boundaries, removal of energetic residues, sealing of ruptures, chakra work, space clearing, prayer, crystals, essential oils, colour, sound, return to the body.
How colours help the aura and chakras
Colour is one of the most immediate languages of the field. Each colour carries a quality. Red brings grounding and strength. Orange brings flow and creation. Yellow brings confidence and clear will. Green and pink bring heart and healing. Blue brings speech and calm. Indigo brings vision. Violet brings spiritual transformation. Gold brings sacred direction.
In holistic work, colour may be used as meditation, visualisation, crystal choice, clothing colour, candle, light, symbol, energetic sealing. It is not a matter of aesthetics. It is a matter of frequency and intention.
Crystals, flower remedies, essential oils and energetic protocol
Reading the aura and chakras becomes much more meaningful when it leads to a personal protocol. It is not enough to say “the heart is closed” or “the solar plexus is under pressure”. The question is: what is needed now?
One person may need a crystal for grounding. Another a flower remedy for fear. Another an essential oil for release. Another colour for strengthening. Another heart meditation. Another ritual for cutting ties. Another simply needs to learn not to give their energy to everyone.
When aura cleansing is needed
Aura cleansing is needed when the field has become charged with more than it can metabolise. This may happen after intense conflicts, contact with heavy environments, grief, psychic pressure, prolonged anxiety, separation, exhaustion, work with many people, a sense of foreign energy or simply when the person feels that they are not “themselves”.
Cleansing is not punishment of the field. It is care. Just as we cleanse the body, the space, our clothes and our home, we can also cleanse our energetic atmosphere. The aura needs breath. It needs light. It needs boundaries. It needs periodic restoration.
When the aura needs sealing or strengthening
Sealing the aura is not “closing” the person. It is restoration of boundaries. It is needed when the person feels too open, vulnerable, drained or exposed. When they easily receive the moods of others. When they are affected by spaces. When they cannot disconnect from people. When they have gone through shock or intense emotional experience.
How a complete aura and chakra energy session takes place
A complete session should not be generic. It must have structure. First comes mapping. Then the energy centers that need attention are identified. Next, colour, flow, density, emotional cause, psychic state and practical need are examined. Finally, a personal protocol is created.
Aura reading
Observation of the field, colours, boundaries, density, leaks and general energetic state.
Chakra reading
Examination of the main energy centers and connection with psychological, emotional and spiritual patterns.
Pattern interpretation
Connection of energetic findings with boundaries, relationships, fears, desires, blockages, grief or inner direction.
Personal protocol
Selection of colours, crystals, flower remedies, essential oils, practices and ritual guidance.
The real work is not to “open everything”
One of the greatest mistakes in modern spirituality is the idea that all chakras must simply be opened. This is not correct. An energy center does not always need opening. Sometimes it needs calm. Sometimes grounding. Sometimes protection. Sometimes release. Sometimes closure from external influences.
The same applies to the aura. We do not want a field open to everything. We want a conscious field. One that receives what nourishes it. Rejects what drains it. Breathes. Lights up. Protects itself. Remains alive.
The essence of the aura and the chakras
The aura and the energy centers are a map. Not a map of fear. A map of self-knowledge. They show where the person is strong. Where they have disconnected. Where they hurt. Where they give too much. Where they do not allow themselves to receive. Where grounding is needed. Where light is needed. Where love is needed. Where boundary is needed.
Whoever understands the aura does not see only colours. They see the story of the field. They see what the soul is trying to say before it becomes a word. They see where the body asks for care, where emotion asks for release, where the mind asks for clarity, where spirit asks for return.
Personal aura and energy centers reading
A personal aura and chakra reading is not a general interpretation. It is work on the specific field of a human being. It shows which centers are strong, which need support, where there is energetic leakage, where there is charge, which colours dominate, which are missing, which quality needs strengthening and which needs cleansing.
From there, a personal energetic protocol can be created: with colours, crystals, flower remedies, essential oils, grounding exercises, meditation, protection, cleansing, ritual sealing or work on a specific chakra. This is what gives value to holistic healing. It does not remain in theory. It transforms the reading into practical direction.
Personal Aura & Energy Centers Mapping
If you feel that your field is heavy, weak, open, tired or confused, a personal mapping of your aura and energy centers can be created for you.
This work examines the overall quality of the field, the main chakras, the colours that dominate, points of leakage or charge, their psychological and spiritual meaning and the appropriate tools of support: crystals, flower remedies, essential oils, colours, practices and energetic direction.
This is not a generic reading. It is a personal energetic mapping, so that you can understand what your field truly needs during this period.
