The term describes the different traditions and methods used to construct and interpret an astrological chart.
There Is More Than One Way to Read the Sky
Astrology developed through different cultures and historical periods. For this reason, we encounter different schools, techniques and systems of calculation.
Western Astrology, the Indian tradition commonly known today as Vedic Astrology or Jyotisha, and the different forms of Chinese Astrology do not always use the same reference points or organize time in the same way.
Even within a single tradition, different techniques serve different purposes. Natal astrology, synastry, horary astrology, transits and progressions address different forms of astrological study.
