What is Vesta?
Vesta (4) is one of the largest bodies in the main asteroid belt. It was discovered in 1807 by Heinrich Wilhelm Olbers and named after the Roman goddess Vesta, equivalent to the Greek Hestia.
Astrologically, Vesta adds a focused archetypal question to the natal chart: where is our sacred flame, and what are we capable of devoting ourselves to completely?

Hestia is the Greek goddess of the hearth, home and sacred fire. Her power is not based on conquest or dramatic conflict, but on the center. The hearth formed the heart of the household, while sacred civic fire represented the continuity of the community.
Vesta therefore represents another kind of strength: not the power that conquers, but the power that remains. It is focus, inner silence, consistency and the ability to serve something because it is experienced as sacred.
